Applications are Open: 2025 King’s Undergraduate Research Fellowships (KURF) for Undergraduate Students
The King’s Undergraduate Research Fellowships (KURF) programme offers undergraduate students the opportunity to gain research experience by working as paid research fellows on projects by King’s leading academics and research staff.
KURF enables students to take part in active research across a broad range of disciplines, with projects available in all Faculties and subject areas.
The programme is open to all undergraduate students, including first-years, final-years, and international students. Each year, around 70% of successful Fellows are from underrepresented or Widening Participation backgrounds.
Participants work closely with academic supervisors on meaningful research tasks and, in many cases, contribute to long-term outputs.

- All undergraduate students, including those in their first or final year and international students, are eligible for the programme.
- Annually, approximately 70% of successful Fellows come from underrepresented or Widening Participation backgrounds.
Format of the Fellowship
- 150 hours over 4 weeks | Bursary: £1500
- 150 hours over 4–8 weeks | Bursary: £1500
- 75 hours | Bursary: £750
The Fellowship Covers:
- Participants will receive a Grant of £1500 (British Pounds).
- The official title of ‘King’s Research Fellow’, recognising their contribution to research at King’s.
- Recognition through the prestigious King’s Research Award
- A digital certificate and LinkedIn badge.
- Membership in the King’s Edge community.
