2026 European Southern Observatory Internship Program (ESO) in Germany

The European Southern Observatory (ESO) enables scientists worldwide to discover the secrets of the Universe for the benefit of all.

Requirement for the 2026 European Southern Observatory Internship Program

  • The ESO internships are open to all Nationals.
  • No nationality is excluded in principle.
  • Preferred Candidates: Students currently studying or recent graduates with a university degree in:
    • Science
    • Science Communication
    • Engineering
    • Science Journalism
  • Astronomy Knowledge: Interns should possess a broad knowledge and interest in basic astronomy, including topics like:
    • Stargazing
    • How telescopes work
    • Key astronomical objects
  • Language Skills: Good knowledge of both English and German is required.
