About the Graduate Trainee Role
The Actuarial Analyst Graduate Trainee role is an experiential learning opportunity designed to expose graduates to the practical side of actuarial work within an insurance company.
Successful candidates will support actuarial valuations, experience analysis, product pricing, reporting, and strategic projects that contribute to the financial strength and competitiveness of the company’s insurance product portfolio.
The role is suitable for candidates who are strong in mathematics, statistics, data analysis, financial modelling, and analytical problem solving.

Duration of Engagement
- 12 or 18 months experiential learning
Key Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be involved in:
- Performing PAA valuations, including IBNR calculations, modelling, experience analysis, and performance analysis
- Performing GMM liability valuations for funeral, credit life, and investment products
- Performing expense analysis and lapse and withdrawal analysis
- Conducting mortality experience analysis
- Documenting all experience analysis processes and maintaining relevant records
- Performing product management analysis, including product performance monitoring and reporting
- Supporting product development initiatives through actuarial modelling and feasibility studies
- Assisting with asset liability matching models and Capital Adequacy Requirement calculations
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science as a minimum requirement
- No prior work experience required
- Exposure to actuarial modelling software, Excel, R, or Python is advantageous
- Knowledge of insurance products is beneficial
- High level of accuracy when working with financial data, models, and reports
- Solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
- Strong learning agility
- Good communication skills
- Teamwork and collaboration ability
