Applications Now Open: Creative Fund 2026 (Project-Based Funding Available)

Job Description

Applications are now open for the Creative Fund 2026, an initiative by the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub in partnership with Tech4Dev. The programme is designed to support Nigeria’s rapidly growing creative industry through flexible, project-based funding.

Funded under the Digital Access Programme, the initiative targets high-potential projects in film, fashion, and music, with a strong focus on strengthening local production capacity and reducing reliance on foreign technical services.

About the Programme

Nigeria’s creative sector continues to expand, employing millions and contributing significantly to the economy. However, limited access to funding and technical expertise remains a major challenge for many creators.

The Creative Fund aims to bridge this gap by:

  • Supporting local talent
  • Improving access to digital tools
  • Enabling high-quality production within Nigeria

Focus Areas

The programme supports projects across three key industries:

  • Film: Post-production, editing, animation, and sound design
  • Fashion: Digital design, production engineering, and sustainable sourcing
  • Music: Sound engineering, mastering, production, and distribution

Funding Support

Selected projects will receive tailored funding, which may cover:

  • Technical talent
  • Production equipment
  • Software licences
  • Creative events (e.g., workshops, exhibitions)

Applicants are expected to provide in-kind contributions such as workspace, logistics, or mentorship support to ensure shared commitment and long-term sustainability.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be based in Nigeria and operate within the film, fashion, or music sectors
  • Be registered creative businesses or organisations
  • Demonstrate a clear technical production gap with a structured project plan
  • Include 2 to 5 mid-career professionals (minimum of 2 years’ experience)
  • Incorporate a mentorship or training component

Additionally, each project must include a “give-back” initiative, such as:

  • Hosting workshops
  • Mentoring startups
  • Supporting community learning

Application Timeline

  • Opening Date: April 22, 2026
  • Closing Date: July 30, 2026

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is strongly encouraged.
