Job Description
Applications are now open for the 2026 One Health Communications Internship Programme, a six-month internship organized by the One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI). The programme is designed to equip students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals with practical experience in development communications, science communication, One Health risk communication, and public engagement.
OHDI is a leading non-profit organization advancing the One Health approach through research, policy, innovation, capacity strengthening, and programme implementation. Its work covers areas such as antimicrobial resistance, animal welfare, sustainable food systems, health security, and environmental conservation.
The internship provides participants with the opportunity to work on real-world communication projects while collaborating with experienced professionals across OHDI’s programmes and platforms.

Internship Tracks
Successful applicants will be assigned to one of the following communication specializations based on their interests, skills, and organizational needs:
- Social Media & Community Management
- Content Development & Science Communication
- Graphic Design & Visual Communications
- Multimedia & Digital Storytelling
- Digital Communications & Website Management
Internship Responsibilities
Interns will:
- Support communication activities across OHDI and its affiliated programmes.
- Participate in communication planning and strategy meetings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary programme teams.
- Contribute creative communication ideas and campaigns.
- Participate in monthly capacity-building sessions covering development communications, science communication, One Health risk communication, and public engagement.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Be students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals.
- Hold or currently pursue a degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Health, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Marketing, International Development, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in digital communications and storytelling.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be creative, proactive, organized, and willing to learn.
- Have experience or a strong interest in social media management, graphic design, photography, videography, or content creation.
Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, social media management platforms, and AI productivity tools is an added advantage.
