Catalyst Path Consulting is Hiring Graduate Engineer Trainees in Mining Engineering
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) in Mining Engineering to join our team.
This role is designed to provide fresh graduates with hands-on exposure to mining operations, safety practices, and project management, while preparing them for future leadership positions in the mining industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior mining engineers in planning, designing, and supervising mining operations.
- Learn and apply industry standards for mine safety, environmental compliance, and resource optimization.
- Participate in geological surveys, mine mapping, and ore reserve estimation.
- Support drilling, blasting, and excavation activities under supervision.
- Collect and analyze operational data to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives, including waste management and land reclamation.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Rotate across different departments (planning, operations, safety, environment) as part of the GET program.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of mining engineering fundamentals (rock mechanics, mine planning, mineral processing).
- Familiarity with mining software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, AutoCAD, Minex).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in remote mining locations and adapt to challenging environments.
- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and ethical practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or related discipline).
- Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards is an advantage.
Career Path
- Successful GETs will progress into roles such as Mining Engineer, Mine Planning Engineer, or Operations Supervisor, with opportunities for specialization in areas like geotechnical engineering, mineral economics, or mine safety.
