Details of the Chrysalis Advisors Trainee Program 2025
- The Chrysalis Advisors Trainee (ChAT) Program is designed to develop the next generation of high-performing analysts who will shape the future of venture, strategy, and advisory across Africa.
- As a Financial Analyst within the ChAT Program, you’ll learn to think like a strategist, analyze like an investor, and execute like an operator.
- You’ll work across live projects; supporting founders, evaluating ventures, and building financial and operational models that inform investment and advisory decisions.
- This program is built for individuals who are naturally curious, driven by impact, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding environment.
Learning Objectives and Key Responsibilities
- Learn how to assess a company’s financial and operational health through real-world examples and guided analysis.
- Build a strong foundation in financial modeling, valuation, and forecasting.
- Conduct market and industry research to understand how business models scale and succeed.
- Observe and support advisory workstreams, including project documentation, research, and analysis.
- Learn how to prepare business and investment reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Participate in workshops, feedback sessions, and peer learning activities to deepen technical and soft skills.
- Develop structured thinking, communication, and problem-solving capabilities aligned with Chrysalis’ advisory approach.
- Uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and intellectual curiosity throughout the program.
- Support financial and strategic advisory work for Chrysalis portfolio companies and partners.
Who You Are
- Intellectually curious; you ask thoughtful questions, explore ideas deeply, and enjoy figuring out how things work.
- Action-oriented; you don’t wait for perfect conditions; you take initiative and learn through doing.
- A recent graduate or early-career professional eager to build skills in finance, business strategy, or venture advisory.
- Strong analytical and quantitative thinker with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or other data tools is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Curious, coachable, and comfortable working in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Fluent in English.
- Must have strong analytical (quantitative as well as qualitative) skills including building models, and online market research.
- Quick learner.
