Job Description
Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Young Leaders Fellowship (CYLF) 2026, a flagship leadership development programme designed to equip young leaders across the Commonwealth with practical leadership skills for careers in public service, entrepreneurship, community leadership, and the workplace.
Through intensive leadership training, tailored mentorship, cross-border collaboration, professional placements, and community action projects, the Fellowship empowers emerging leaders to address pressing challenges facing Commonwealth nations while promoting the values of the Commonwealth Charter.
As part of the programme, selected Fellows will participate in two international in-person convenings during the Fellowship cycle:
- One week in the United Kingdom (late August) at partner institutions in London.
- One week in Antigua and Barbuda to take part in activities during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Available Support
The Fellowship Secretariat will provide:
- Invitation and support letters to assist with visa applications for both international convenings.
- Partial travel bursaries or accommodation support for Fellows on a needs basis, subject to confirmed funding partnerships. Eligible shortlisted applicants will receive further details directly.
- Guidance for participants to seek co-funding from their home institutions, employers, or national youth agencies to help cover personal expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be 18–35 years old (typically) from a Commonwealth member state.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of, or strong commitment to, community leadership, public service, or social impact initiatives.
- Be available to participate fully in the three-month Fellowship, including both international in-person convenings.
