As we scale our communications across we’re looking for a Communications Intern who’s passionate about writing, storytelling and bringing ideas to life through content that connects.
Job Description
We’re looking for a creative and thoughtful Communications Intern to support our marketing and communications efforts across all our brands.
You’ll work closely with our Marketing & Communications Manager to craft blogs, newsletters, social content and other storytelling materials that help position Borderless and its sister brands as thought leaders in Africa’s investment and innovation space.
This role is perfect for someone who loves writing, is curious about finance and technology, and wants to grow their career in brand communications within a mission-driven startup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the creation of blogs, articles, and thought pieces on finance, investment and innovation in Africa.
- Draft copy for social media and newsletters (not page management, just content creation).
- Assist with developing and updating resources and communication materials for our communities and partners.
- Conduct research and interviews to inform content and storytelling.
- Help refine messaging and ensure consistency across all platforms and brands.
- Support with internal and external communications for campaigns and events.
Requirements:
- Strong writing and storytelling ability to turn complex ideas into simple, engaging narratives.
- Interest or academic background in communications, journalism, marketing, finance or related fields.
- Understanding (or curiosity) about finance, investment and tech in Africa.
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn in a remote, collaborative and impact-driven team.
- Proactive, organized and open to feedback.
- Bonus: experience writing blog posts, newsletters or opinion pieces.
