The AI Hub for Sustainable Development Cyber4Africa Programme 2026
Applications are now open for the Cyber4Africa Programme 2026, a six-month initiative designed to help African AI startups strengthen their cybersecurity capabilities, build trust, and scale responsibly.
The programme is implemented by the AI Hub for Sustainable Development in partnership with UNDP, Cisco Networking Academy, Cyber 4.0, the Government of Italy, and other ecosystem partners working to support Africa’s growing AI economy.
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare, financial services, government systems, energy infrastructure, and digital platforms, cybersecurity is no longer optional. Trust, resilience, and security have become essential foundations for sustainable AI innovation.
Cyber4Africa aims to help African startups build those foundations from the beginning through expert training, technical support, cybersecurity assessments, and operational guidance.
About the Programme
The Cyber4Africa Programme is designed for African startups building AI-powered products and services that handle sensitive information, critical infrastructure, or high-impact technologies.
The programme focuses on helping startups adopt security-by-design principles, strengthen cyber resilience, improve operational security, and prepare for growth, investment, and institutional partnerships.
Over six months, participating startups will receive practical support to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen internal systems, improve incident response capabilities, and align with international cybersecurity standards.

Cyber Resilience and Awareness

Training and Capacity Building

Who Should Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be an African AI startup.
- Have an AI-enabled product, platform, or service at MVP stage or beyond.
- Handle sensitive personal, financial, operational, or institutional data.
- Operate within one or more of the programme’s priority sectors.
- Be based in Africa or primarily serving African markets.
- Be available to actively participate throughout the six-month programme.
