Job Description

The Finance Graduate Trainee will support the Finance team in day-to-day accounting operations, including record-keeping, documentation, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role provides practical exposure to core finance processes, internal controls, and compliance requirements within the organization. A key aspect of the role involves working closely with different departments to ensure financial efficiency and compliance.

The role also emphasizes learning and development. Interns are expected to gain exposure to real-world financial systems, accounting tools, and organizational workflows. Given ACE Group’s multi-sector operations, finance interns may also interact with projects in consulting, agriculture, or construction, providing a broad understanding of how financial management supports business operations across industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in voucher expense documentation
  • Support preparation and maintenance of financial records and schedules
  • Assist with reconciliations and ledger reviews
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents
  • Support statutory deductions where required
  • Assist in expense tracking and variance analysis
  • Provide support during audits by collating required documentation
  • Assist in updating reports and internal trackers
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
  • 0–1 year of experience in finance or accounting (NYSC, internship, or trainee experience is an advantage).
  • Must be a serving NYSC Corps Member
  • Must have at least 8 months left in service year.
  • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (for finance roles, adapted from their general listings)
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
    Good communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow professionally

Skills and Competence

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data entry, and basic reporting)
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Good organizational and documentation skill
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a structured finance environment
