HerGovernment Bootcamp 2026

Job Description
Introduction
Applications are open for HerGovernment Bootcamp 2026, an introductory civic education programme for young Nigerian women based in Lagos. The programme offers practical learning on governance, public policy and civic participation through online workshops, institutional visits, conversations with practitioners and an online advocacy campaign.
HerGovernment Cohort 1 is a pilot cohort supported by the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund. Only five participants will be selected for the programme.
About HerGovernment
HerGovernment is a civic education initiative that introduces young Nigerian women to governance, public policy and civic participation. It combines structured learning with practical exposure to government and civic institutions, as well as engagement with people working in public and civic spaces.
The initiative helps participants develop a clearer understanding of how governance operates and how citizens can engage with public issues. Its approach connects introductory education with institutional visits, conversations with practitioners and public advocacy.
About HerGovernment Bootcamp 2026
HerGovernment Bootcamp 2026 is the first cohort of HerGovernment’s civic education programme. The pilot will examine governance across Nigeria’s local, state and federal levels, giving participants an introductory understanding of how different levels of government function and how they relate to public policy and civic participation.
The programme will use a combination of online and in-person activities in Lagos. Participants will join introductory sessions and online workshops, visit selected government and civic institutions, speak with practitioners and contribute to an online advocacy campaign.
A central part of the programme is a one-day visit to key government institutions in Lagos. This visit will complement the online learning by giving participants direct exposure to institutions and civic spaces connected to governance.
