About the NCDMB Essay Competition

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) was created in 2010 following the signing of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act into law.

The board is responsible for developing frameworks, guidelines, and strategies to promote indigenous participation in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry.

The foundation of NCDMB can be traced back to 2001, when the Presidential Committee on Local Content in the Oil and Gas Industry was inaugurated by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Through the annual essay competition, NCDMB seeks to engage the minds of young Nigerians, encouraging them to think critically about sustainable strategies for local content development in a rapidly changing global energy landscape.
