Job Description

The Northern Girl Initiative (NGI) has officially opened applications for its 2026 Internship Programme, inviting passionate and driven young Nigerian graduates to apply.

This opportunity is tailored for individuals who are committed to advancing the empowerment of women and girls while gaining hands-on experience in impactful, community-driven initiatives.

NGI is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the rights, education, and overall wellbeing of girls and young women across Nigeria. Through advocacy, capacity building, and sustainable development programmes, the organisation continues to make meaningful contributions in underserved communities.

Available Internship Positions

Qualified candidates can apply for any of the following roles:

  • Programs Assistant
  • Communication and Advocacy Lead

These positions provide interns with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, build practical skills, and contribute directly to projects that drive positive social change.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the programme, applicants must:

  • Hold an HND or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
  • Show a strong passion for women and girls’ empowerment
