Summary
- We are seeking to recruit a Research Assistant for Internship/National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for its Country Programme, to provide support with conducting research, knowledge generation, analyse data and support with preparation of briefs within its programme implementation across its Agriculture, Renewable Energy and Water portfolios.
Purpose of the internship Placement
- In your role as a Research Assistant, you will gain practical experience in research and data analysis and programme implementation within an international development organisation.
- The intern will be based in Abuja, work with the Programme and project team, across SNV Nigeria’s portfolio, contributing to a range of initiatives that strengthens SNV’s objectives and visibility.
- The intern will report to the Country Director and will take on, a mix of research and data analysis tasks within the dynamic programmes. Each week will offer opportunities to learn, co-create, and contribute in meaningful ways.

Job Description
- Conduct desk research on agriculture, agribusiness, renewable energy, water and climate-related issues relevant to SNV programmes.
- Support programme teams with data collection, analysis and interpretation for projects and assignments.
- Track relevant market, policy, technology and investment developments across agriculture, renewable energy and water sectors.
- Prepare concise research briefs, literature reviews, presentations, factsheets and programme inputs.
- Support mapping and profiling of private-sector companies, government institutions, development partners and other stakeholders.
- Assist in gathering and analysing information on value chains, markets, business models and investment opportunities.
- Support field research, interviews, surveys and stakeholder consultations where required.
- Contribute to preparation of project reports, concept notes, proposals, ToRs and other technical documents.
- Support programme team in monitoring project activities and compiling relevant evidence and documentation.
- Organise and maintain research databases, reference materials and project information.
- Support knowledge management by documenting lessons learnt success stories and emerging practices across projects.
- Undertake other research and programme-support tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies or related field.
- NYSC member with valid deployment to Abuja and graduates with a maximum of 1 year of post-NYSC work experience.

Additional Information:
Internship Engagement Terms:
- This is a learning placement for a period of 12 months, designed to build capacity and practical experience.
- While it does not constitute employment, the intern/ NYSC member will gain valuable exposure to international development general office operations practices and systems, with mentoring and supervision provided by the experienced team.

2.) Administrative Assistant Intern

- The Officer will be responsible for the supporting with general administration, operational activities and support project teams.

Job Description
General Administrative Support:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Country office and project teams.
- Prepare meeting logistics, attendance sheets, agendas and minutes.
- Support travel arrangements, hotel bookings and related logistics for staff, consultants and project participants.
- Maintain organised electronic and physical filing systems in line with SNV procedures for country programme and projects, including data management and filing.
- Support the preparation, processing and tracking of administrative forms and requests.
- Provide any other administrative support as required by the office program.
Programme and Project Support:
- Support Program and Project team with meetings, workshops and related events.
- Assist with collecting and organising programme data; and maintaining comprehensive data on the various projects partners and clients.
- Assist with preparing project-related documents, presentations, trackers and reports.
- Support the preparation of project documentation for internal review and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, management, Public Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences or a related field.
- NYSC member with valid deployment to Abuja and graduates with a maximum of 1-2 year of post-NYSC work experience.
- Previous administrative, operational, project or office-support experience is an advantage but not essential.

The intern will be based in Abuja, work with the Communication team and Country Programme team. These includes working with Programme Managers, Advisors and project teams across SNV Nigeria’s portfolio, contributing to a range of initiatives that strengthens SNV’s objectives and visibility.

Description
Communications and digital Support:
- Support the development of engaging content using pictures and info graphs which aligns with the various SNV Nigeria’s digital platforms. This includes, website, ViVa Engage, facebook and Instagram.
- Support the development of impact and success stories of the project. This could be featured in reports, newsletters, factsheets and targeted visibility materials.
- Support management and advisors on the application of corporate brand on promotional activities such as project updates, case studies, briefs, presentations and other communication materials.
- Collaborate with and support staff with communication activities such as basic graphics, infographics, presentations and short videos using digital design and editing tools.
- Monitor SNV Nigeria’s digital engagement and support basic analytics and reporting.
Programme and Knowledge Management:
- Capture, organise and upload photographs, and videos on SharePoint for project activities such as online publications, presentations, exhibitions, reports, etc.
- Support Programme Managers and Advisors to identify compelling project results, human-interest stories and learnings that can be communicated to wider audiences.
- Support documentation of workshops, field visits, stakeholder meetings and project events.
- Assist in converting technical programme information into clear, accessible and engaging communication content.
- Support the preparation of presentations, briefing materials and other programme documentation.
- supporting the development, documentation and dissemination of programme activities.
- Assist teams in maintaining project information and digital records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Communication, Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Marketing, Development Studies or a related field.
- NYSC member with valid deployment to Abuja and graduates with a maximum of 1 year of post-NYSC work experience.
