Call for Applications: UNESCO Science Club Challenge 2026 African Edition

UNESCO, in partnership with BOE Technology Group Co. Ltd., will launch a Science Club Network in 2026.

In this context, the Organization is launching the Science Club Challenge 2026 African edition to support the growth and sustainability of African science clubs within the soon-to-be launched UNESCO Science Clubs Network as part of its global effort to build a worldwide network of young innovators and educators.

The African science clubs participating in the UNESCO Science Clubs Network will be announced in Namibia in December 2025, followed by the Asia-Pacific edition and the Arab edition, expected to be launched in China and Kuwait (TBD) respectively in early 2026.

All regional efforts will culminate in the launch of the UNESCO Global Science Club Network in Paris in June 2026.

How to Participate

All science clubs across Africa are encouraged to document the STEM activities and achievements implemented during the five months preceding the submission deadline of 30 April, 2026.

As part of the application process, science clubs are invited to prepare and submit the following materials:

  • Submit a final project report demonstrating the STEM activities conducted, including data on beneficiaries and optional photos and videos.
  • Submit STEM education resources or teaching modules developed by the club (optional).
  • Prepare a roadmap outlining strategies for future development, self-sustainability, and potential expansion.

Awarding

Outstanding projects will be recognised through an online, hybrid, or in-person award ceremony. Prizes include:

1 Gold award

  • One 86″ BOE interactive smart screen, and
  • two BOE learning tablets, and
  • one Transsion smartphone, and
  • a certificate.

3 Silver awards

  • Two BOE learning tablets, and
  • one Transsion smartphone, and
  • a certificate.

6 Bronze awards

  • One BOE learning tablet, and
  • one Transsion smartphone, and
  • a certificate.

Honourable mentions

  • Certificates and mention on UNESCO’s platforms.
