Role Overview
This internship offers students hands-on experience in programme implementation and management. Interns will support UNICEF’s Social Policy programmes—from planning and strategy to execution and evaluation—while working closely with government and development partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support data-driven reporting and advocacy for improved child-focused social protection
- Assist in coordinating technical support in public finance, governance, and policy
- Contribute to planning, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes
- Ensure data quality and consistency in programme implementation
- Prepare and present reports based on data insights
- Support meetings, logistics, and stakeholder coordination
- Perform other tasks as required by the section
Requirements
Education:
- Must be a current Nigerian student (200 level or above)
- Field of study: Social Sciences, Administration, Public Policy, or related disciplines
- Strong academic performance required
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Report writing, data analysis, and programme support skills are an advantage
- No prior experience required (but relevant experience is a plus)
Language:
- Fluency in English (mandatory)
- Knowledge of another UN or local language is an added advantage
Important Notes
- Interns are not classified as UNICEF staff
- Cannot officially represent UNICEF
- Must not have immediate relatives working with UNICEF
- Must not report within a family line of authority
