UNODC Calls for Creative Contributions from Young People Worldwide

About The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)
Strengthening Youth Crime Prevention initiative, is inviting young people around the world to share their lived experiences, ideas, and perspectives on youth violence and crime through creative expression.
Youth violence and crime affect communities across the world. Too often, young people are talked about rather than listened to. This campaign creates space for young people to share their realities, struggles, ideas, and hopes while contributing to more effective approaches to preventing youth violence and crime.
By listening to the voices of young people, especially those who have firsthand experience with violence and crime, they can develop more effective and youth-centred solutions.
Who Can Participate?
- Young people aged 18 to 29 years from all regions of the world.
- Young people who have experienced, observed, or been affected by violence or crime.
- Individuals who have been in conflict with the law and wish to share their experiences, lessons, or pathways to change.
- Young people who want to contribute ideas on prevention, healing, belonging, hope, and safer communities.
What You Can Submit
All forms of creative expression are welcome, including:
- Poetry.
- Short stories.
- Illustrations.
- Drawings and paintings.
- Photography.
- Audio pieces or music.
- Video works.
- Mixed-media creations.
If your work reflects your personal story, lived experience, or perspective on youth violence and crime, it is eligible for submission.

Selected submissions may be featured in:
- A digital youth zine showcasing creative works from young people around the world.
- A youth art exhibition during the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC), taking place in Vienna in October 2026.
A global UNODC advocacy campaign promoting youth-centred approaches to preventing violence and crime.
Your contribution can help challenge stereotypes, promote understanding, inspire action, and encourage more inclusive policies and prevention strategies worldwide.
