The World Bank Group Young Professionals Program (WBG YPP) is an exciting opportunity for talented professionals from around the world to launch a career with the World Bank Group.
The program recruits young professionals with diverse academic and professional backgrounds relevant to the World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
Successful candidates will join the World Bank Group as mid-career professionals and receive a competitive employment package, professional development opportunities, and exposure to global development work.

About the World Bank Group YPP
The World Bank and IFC have merged their respective Young Professionals Programs into a single World Bank Group Young Professionals Program (WBG YPP).
The program now recruits professionals on behalf of three institutions: the World Bank, IFC, and MIGA. Building on the legacy of its predecessor programs, the WBG YPP is designed to develop future leaders who can collaborate across the World Bank Group to address global development challenges.
Young Professionals are recruited from around the world, with preference given to nationals of World Bank Group member countries and countries of operations. Qualified applicants from diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
2027 WBG YPP Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a minimum of a master’s degree and have 2–6 years of relevant professional work experience.
- Be a national of a World Bank Group member country, as demonstrated by an officially issued passport or equivalent document.
- Have completed, or be on track to complete, a master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field before September 1, 2027.
- If pursuing a doctorate, full-time doctoral research in a relevant field at an accredited institution may count toward the required work experience. The degree must be substantially complete, with all written work submitted before September 1, 2026.
- Demonstrate excellent spoken and written English. Proficiency in additional languages may be an advantage.
- Not be a current World Bank Group staff member or otherwise be ineligible to apply or join the program under the World Bank Group’s employment eligibility policies.
- Not hold an ET or ST contract with the Bank.
- JPA participants and eligible former World Bank interns may also apply, subject to the program’s eligibility conditions.
