About the Role

Abbey Mortgage Bank is currently recruiting for the position of IT Quality Assurance Officer to join its technology team in Lagos, Nigeria.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining test plans, scripts, and documentation to ensure that Abbey’s IT systems, web platforms, and banking applications meet the highest quality standards.

This role is crucial for maintaining reliability, performance, and compliance across all technology-driven operations within the bank. The IT Quality Assurance Officer will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to identify, document, and resolve software defects while ensuring all deliverables meet both internal and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Quality Assurance Officer at Abbey Mortgage Bank, you will:

  • Develop and execute test plans, cases, and scripts for IT projects, including new software deployments and upgrades.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across all systems.
  • Track and manage software defects and resolutions using QA tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Enforce QA standards and ensure compliance with CBN and NDIC regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and project managers to ensure seamless quality assurance processes.
  • Provide detailed documentation and reporting on all QA processes, testing outcomes, and improvement recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen Abbey’s software testing frameworks and procedures.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in Quality Assurance or software testing—preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing methods for web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in QA tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Postman, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of software testing practices including regression, UAT, and integration testing.
  • ISTQB, CSTE, or Agile Testing certification will be an added advantage.
