About the Role
The Accountant role is designed for candidates who can support the company’s finance operations, maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to effective financial decision making.
The selected candidate will work within the finance department and support key accounting functions such as journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, audit documentation, inventory accounting, cost tracking, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and other ledger reconciliations
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and support external auditors
- Monitor compliance with internal controls, policies, and statutory requirements
- Assist in inventory accounting, cost tracking, and fixed asset management
- Provide timely financial insights to support management decision making
- Participate in process improvement initiatives within the finance department
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Must be a Chartered Accountant with ICAN or ACCA
- Must have 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience in a reputable organization
- Experience in FMCG, retail, or manufacturing is preferred
- Must not be more than 30 years old
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Integrity, professionalism, and strong sense of responsibility
