Job Description

Comrd. Bashir Gorau, Member of the House of Representatives for Gada/Goronyo Federal Constituency, Sokoto State, is pleased to announce the recruitment of 200 applicants under the newly introduced Gorau Teachers Service Scheme (GTSS).

This initiative is a bold step towards empowering youths, strengthening education, and reducing the number of out-of-school children within the constituency.

Key Objectives

1. Expanding Education Access

Through the Gorau Teachers Service Scheme, quality education will be brought closer to rural and underserved communities in Gada and Goronyo LGAs, ensuring more children gain access to formal learning.

2. Reducing Out-of-School Children

The scheme will collaborate with local Qur’anic schools, providing formal training and certification to integrate more children into the mainstream education system.

3. Programme Implementation

The GTSS will run over a two-year period with 200 volunteers (100 beneficiaries per LGA). Implementation will be done in structured stages:

  • Registration & Selection – Transparent and inclusive process to identify qualified applicants.
  • Comprehensive Orientation – Training sessions to equip participants with classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Financial Empowerment – Each volunteer teacher will receive a monthly stipend to cover transportation and other needs.

The scheme will officially begin with a groundbreaking flag-off ceremony in January 2026.

  • NCE (National Certificate in Education)
  • B.A. / B.A. Ed in Education or related fields
