Job Description

In a bold step toward strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the establishment of the National Health Fellows Programme.

This initiative is part of the government’s broader vision to upgrade existing primary healthcare centres and construct over 8,800 new facilities across all local government areas, ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for all Nigerians.

The programme also aims to introduce new social accountability mechanisms, ensuring transparency and effectiveness in service delivery at the grassroots level.

Fellows will serve as change agents—driving community health initiatives, supporting primary healthcare revitalization, and strengthening accountability frameworks.

The fellowship is domiciled in the Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp) Coordination Office, under the Office of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.

Fellows will be recruited, trained, remunerated, and provided with the necessary tools to deliver measurable impact in the health sector.
