PHP/MySQL Web Developers (Mid-Level & Entry-Level) at EmpowerDB

Work arrangement: Full-time independent contractor (no benefits).

Location: Fully remote — live anywhere in the world.

Schedule: Must work 9am–5pm U.S. time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific).

Are you passionate about web development and looking for a role where your work truly makes an impact? EmpowerDB, a leading web-based database serving domestic violence and sexual assault service providers, is expanding its team!

Our platform helps organizations collect, manage, analyze, and report critical information, while also providing highly personalized consulting and support. Now, we’re hiring two developers, one Mid-Level and one Entry-Level (or Apprentice) to join our mission-driven team.

Mid-Level Web Developer

Responsibilities:

• Add custom functionality to meet unique customer needs.
• Migrate data between sources using SQL queries, PHP scripts, or our in-house migration tool.
• Debug and resolve system errors.
• Build reporting pages using PHP or our proprietary reporting platform.
• Mentor and support the entry-level developer.

Requirements:

• Prior experience with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery.
• Ability to adapt and build within an established system and codebase.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Compensation: $100,000 USD per year (final offer may vary by location and experience).

Entry-Level / Apprentice Web Developer

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer support and triage requests.
• Gain hands-on exposure to the codebase through daily support tasks.
• Gradually grow into coding responsibilities.

Requirements:

• No prior web development experience required!
• Must be tech-savvy, an excellent communicator, and eager to learn.
• Background in a complementary skill area is a plus.

Compensation: $50,000 USD per year (final offer may vary by location and experience).
