DesignFiles is the leading interior design project management software is looking for a Front-End Rails Developer with strong JavaScript and UI experience to help craft intuitive creative tools that empower over 5,500 designers worldwide.
About the Role
You’ll work on transforming our Design/Presentation Editor into a sleek, Canva-style interface for interior designers complete with moodboards, templates, room mockups, and client-ready presentations. This role combines technical skill with design sensibility, shaping tools that make creative work seamless and enjoyable.
What You’ll Do
- Build and enhance UI components for interactive features like drag-and-drop, snapping, layering, and on-canvas editing.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to create intuitive, performance-driven workflows.
- Help evolve our editor’s architecture to be fast, scalable, and maintainable.
- Deliver a polished, design-forward user experience inspired by tools like Figma and Canva.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong vanilla JavaScript and CSS skills (Tailwind experience a plus).
- Familiarity with Stimulus.js, Turbo, Hotwire, and ViewComponents.
- 3+ years of Ruby on Rails development.
- Experience building or contributing to browser-based design or visual tools is a strong advantage.
