Job Description

Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) is inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant / Data Analyst.

The role is suitable for individuals with strong research, analytical and reporting skills who are interested in governance, democracy, public policy and development work in Nigeria.

The successful candidate will support KDI’s research and programme activities by gathering and analysing information, preparing analytical reports and contributing to projects that require evidence-based insights.

About Kimpact Development Initiative

Kimpact Development Initiative is a Nigerian development organisation focused on strengthening democratic governance, accountability, citizen participation and public institutions.

Its work involves research, policy engagement, election and governance monitoring, civic participation and programmes aimed at improving democratic processes and development outcomes.

Position

Research Assistant / Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the organisation in areas including:

  • Research and analysis
  • Collection and organisation of relevant data
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Preparation of analytical reports
  • Development of research summaries and findings
  • Support for programme implementation
  • Documentation of research and programme activities
  • Interpretation of data to support decision-making
  • Assistance with research projects relating to governance and democracy

Knowledge Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Good understanding of Nigeria’s democratic institutions
  • Familiarity with governance issues in Nigeria
  • Interest in public policy, elections, democracy and development
  • Ability to understand and interpret governance-related information
  • Awareness of issues affecting democratic institutions and civic participation

Technical Skills

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong Google Sheets skills
  • Good analytical ability
  • Good writing and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of quantitative research methodologies
  • Knowledge of qualitative research methodologies
  • Ability to organise, analyse and interpret data accurately

Experience with any of the following will be an added advantage:

  • SPSS
  • STATA
  • Power BI
