Support Engineer at HelpSpot

Job Description
Since 2005, HelpSpot has been helping businesses deliver exceptional customer service through simple, powerful help desk software. We’re now looking for a Support Engineer to join our fully remote team and play a key role in helping our customers succeed.
About the Role
As a Support Engineer, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers using HelpSpot troubleshooting issues, guiding installations, running onboarding sessions, and ensuring every customer gets the best experience possible. You’ll also contribute to improving the product through feedback, documentation, and collaboration with our development team.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone (8–12 per day).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on customer-hosted servers.
- Host training webinars and onboarding sessions over Zoom.
- Create documentation and tutorial videos.

Collaborate with the team to identify and spec new features and fixes.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Motivation to work independently in a remote setting.
- Experience with PHP/Laravel (or interest in learning it).
- Familiarity with MySQL, SQL Server, or basic server admin.

Bonus: Experience supporting B2B or help desk software.
