Tech4Dev is Hiring a Finance Associate

Tech4Dev is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Associate to support financial management, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and financial operations across its programmes.

This role is ideal for finance professionals who are passionate about accountability, donor compliance, and supporting impactful development projects.

Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid, with travel to programme states as required)

Employment Type: Fixed-Term (Project-Funded)

Duration: One-Year Renewable Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Process financial transactions including payments, advances, reimbursements, and retirements in line with internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate records of all programme expenditures within the financial management system.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, budget-versus-actual analyses, and cash flow projections.
  • Support the Finance Lead in managing petty cash, vendor payments, and bank reconciliations.
  • Review financial returns and supporting documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with programme teams and field officers to ensure timely submission of financial documentation.
  • Support audit preparation by maintaining organized and audit-ready financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with donor financial guidelines, procurement thresholds, and approval processes.
  • Identify and escalate financial risks, discrepancies, and compliance issues for prompt resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) in view or partially completed is an advantage.
  • 5–6 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within NGOs, development organizations, or donor-funded projects.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of donor financial management requirements is an added advantage.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Bank reconciliation and cash management.
  • Audit preparation and maintenance of audit-ready documentation.
