Job Description
Tech4Dev is seeking an experienced Research Associate to support programme research, monitoring, evaluation, learning (MEL), and evidence generation across its development initiatives.
This role is ideal for professionals passionate about research, data-driven decision-making, programme evaluation, and social impact.
Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid, with travel to programme states as required)
Employment Type: Fixed-Term (Project-Funded)
Duration: One-Year Renewable Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research studies aligned with programme MEL frameworks.
- Develop data collection tools including surveys, interview guides, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) protocols, and observation checklists.
- Conduct fieldwork, beneficiary interviews, stakeholder consultations, and site visits.
- Analyse research data using appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Prepare research reports, policy briefs, evidence summaries, and programme insights.
- Support baseline, midline, and endline evaluations across projects.
- Assist in developing theories of change, results frameworks, and indicator tracking systems.
- Synthesize evidence from multiple sources to support programme decision-making.
- Contribute to learning events and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Ensure adherence to ethical research standards and data protection protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
- 3–4 years of experience in Research, MEL, or Evidence Management within development programmes.
- Proficiency in research and analysis tools such as SPSS, STATA, NVivo, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Strong report writing, analytical, and data visualization skills.
- Experience conducting surveys, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
- Strong commitment to ethical research practices.

- Quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Survey administration and primary data collection.
- Evidence synthesis and technical report writing.
- MEL framework development, theories of change, and results measurement.
