The Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF) is a not-for-profit foundation incorporated in 2013 with a mission to improve the quality of decision-making and execution in the health sector through a focus on results at scale, providing analytical support, driving innovation, and substantive engagement with key stakeholders.
HSDF is a platform for the implementation of effective ideas and innovative solutions and strives to address complex health systems and developmental challenges through a focus on evidence, rigor and continuous improvement, whether in line with or diverging from the status quo.
Locations: Abuja and Lagos
Summary
- We are seeking passionate and motivated interns to support our Programs teams in Abuja and Lagos.
- The interns will gain exposure to multiple roles and workstreams within the organization and will assist in implementing program activities and deliverables.
- This role includes analyzing primary and secondary data, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and drafting reports and other knowledge products.
- This paid internship is ideal for budding professionals with a strong interest in public health, health systems strengthening, and evidence-driven program implementation.
Job Responsibilities
- Support general research activities, including gathering and organizing information for desk reviews.
- Assist with stakeholder engagement tasks, including coordination and follow-up activities.
- Provide support for basic data-related tasks such as collection, organization, cleaning, and analysis.
- Contribute to the development of simple drafts, summaries, and project-related materials.
- Provide coordination support, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and taking notes during engagements.
- Assist with developing activity plans, agendas, presentations, and basic reports.
- Support logistics for trainings, workshops, and events, including venue coordination, materials preparation, and attendance tracking.
- Maintain organized project documentation, including filing reports, updating trackers, and managing shared folders.
- Assist with basic operational tasks, including procurement support, expense tracking, and record-keeping.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a B.Sc. in Public Health, Health Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Medicine, Pharmacy, Data Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated qualitative research skills and experience supporting the development of research-based materials.
- Basic understanding of data handling tasks, including data entry, organization, and simple data checks.
- Strong willingness to learn, with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Good attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Alignment with organizational values, including being people-oriented, evidence-driven, impact-focused, and demonstrating ownership.
