Are you skilled in translating English to Hausa and passionate about public health communication? Malaria Consortium, a leading nonprofit dedicated to preventing and controlling malaria and other communicable diseases, is currently seeking a Translator (English to Hausa) to support an important child health project in Nigeria.

This role contributes to the SARMAAN II project, which focuses on improving child survival through safe and effective health interventions across multiple states in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate selected health communication posters from English to Hausa
  • Ensure translations are clear, culturally appropriate, and easy to understand
  • Maintain the original meaning and public health terminology
  • Review and refine translations based on feedback from the project team
  • Submit completed translations in an editable Word format

Requirements

  • Diploma in Communication, English, or a related field
  • Proven experience translating English to Hausa, preferably with an international organization
  • Strong understanding of health communication terminology
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • At least 1–2 years of translation experience
