The University of Delaware (UD) is currently accepting applications for Master’s and Ph.D. research assistantships in multidisciplinary fields, including Food Engineering, Fresh Produce Processing & Microbiology, and Plasma Physics/Chemistry.
These positions will begin in Spring 2026 (domestic students) and Fall 2026 (domestic & international applicants).
Successful candidates will join the Department of Animal and Food Sciences (ANFS) in Newark, DE, with opportunities to conduct research in state-of-the-art facilities across Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Criterias for the University of Delaware Scholarships 2026
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields

Preferred Skills & Experiences
- Strong GPA (3.7+ for undergraduate, 3.8+ for graduate studies)
- Research experience in plasma physics, chemistry, or engineering

- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience with electronics, robotics, and AI/ML applications
Accepted graduate assistants will receive a competitive funding package, including:
- Tuition waiver (2 years for Master’s, 4 years for Ph.D.)
- Monthly stipend of approximately $3,000 (before tax)
- Health insurance through UD’s healthcare system
- Conference funding for at least one academic meeting per year
