Video Annotators at CNTXT AI

Job Description
CNTXT AI is looking for detail-oriented Video Annotators to join a Vision-Language-Action (VLA) data project. This is a remote opportunity for people who have strong English skills, a good eye for detail, and can accurately describe what is happening in a video.
The role involves watching short videos of people performing physical tasks, breaking those videos into meaningful steps, and writing clear instructions that explain each action. Your work will help create high-quality datasets used in the development and training of AI systems.
What You’ll Do
As a Video Annotator, you’ll be responsible for turning visual activities into accurate, structured written annotations.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Watching each assigned video from beginning to end before starting the annotation.
- Breaking videos into clear, logical steps based on changes in the action.
- Identifying accurate start and end timestamps for each event.
- Writing concise, grammatically correct descriptions of what is happening in each segment.
- Making sure descriptions are action-oriented, clear, and easy to understand.
- Maintaining consistent wording, tense, tone, and style across annotations.
- Following project guidelines, taxonomies, and annotation standards.
- Flagging videos that are unclear, corrupted, incorrectly labelled, or unsuitable for annotation.
- Taking part in calibration and quality-assurance sessions.
- Applying feedback from reviewers to improve accuracy and consistency.
- Meeting daily and weekly productivity and quality targets.
- Keeping all project information and materials confidential.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong English and excellent attention to detail.
- C1 English proficiency or higher under the CEFR standard.
- Excellent grammar, vocabulary, and sentence construction.
- Strong written communication skills.
- The ability to notice subtle changes in video scenes and accurately describe them.
- Comfort working with video-based tools and online annotation software.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain consistency across repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- A reliable internet connection.
- A computer with a modern web browser.
- Basic computer skills, including handling files, using web-based tools, and working with spreadsheets.
Pay and Work Schedule
The position is offered as a remote full-time or contract opportunity. Compensation is listed as $1 per accepted hour, with a Monday–Friday schedule of 9 hours per day.
Because payment is based on accepted hours, accuracy and adherence to the project’s annotation guidelines will be particularly important.
