Sustainability News Africa (SNA) is inviting applications for its August 2026 Remote Internship Programme (Cohort 3). This three-month virtual internship is designed for students, graduates, and early-career professionals seeking practical experience in sustainability communications, research, marketing, data management, and digital operations.

Interns will work with a pan-African team, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to sustainability-focused projects and initiatives.

Available Internship Positions

1. Research Intern

  • Conduct research on sustainability-related topics.
  • Collect, analyse, and manage research data.
  • Translate research findings into engaging communication materials.
  • Collaborate with team members on research projects and initiatives.

2. Data Entry Intern

  • Perform accurate data entry, verification, and validation.
  • Handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Organise and maintain accurate data records.
  • Support general data management and administrative activities.

3. Marketing Intern

  • Support digital marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Develop creative content for digital platforms.
  • Assist with marketing analysis, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Help promote sustainability initiatives across digital channels.

4. Social Media Post Scheduling Intern

  • Schedule and manage social media content.
  • Maintain brand consistency across social media platforms.
  • Organise and manage content calendars.
  • Coordinate with the communications team to ensure timely content publication.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace is required for all positions.
  • Canva proficiency is required for the Social Media Post Scheduling role.

Research Intern

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Research and data-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of Excel or Google Workspace is an advantage.
  • Previous research or sustainability-related experience is an advantage.

Data Entry Intern

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Experience with Excel or Google Workspace is an advantage.

Marketing Intern

  • Knowledge of digital marketing and content creation.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental issues.
  • Knowledge of Canva and Google Analytics is an advantage.
  • Graphic design or social media copywriting experience is an advantage.

Social Media Post Scheduling Intern

  • Knowledge of content scheduling and social media management.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with Canva and Buffer is an advantage.
  • Interest in sustainability and environmental issues.
