Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking curious minds who love building and analyzing systems. You’re likely:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or any quantitative field.
- On track to graduate in 2026.
- Comfortable writing production-level Python code (experience with SQL, TypeScript, or Rust is a bonus!).
- Strong in math and stats, you understand probability, optimization, and time-series analysis.
- Familiar with algorithms and data structures.
- Aware of financial risk concepts like VaR, CVaR, portfolio optimization, and AMM mathematics.
You don’t need to be a DeFi expert, but if you’ve tinkered with smart contracts, done a hackathon, contributed to open-source projects, or explored DeFi protocols (DEXs, AMMs, yield farming, etc.), that’s a big plus.
What You’ll Do
As a Quant Research Engineer, you’ll transform theory into reality. Every day, you’ll work on problems that shape how decentralized finance operates. Your work might include:
- Translating mathematical models into live trading strategies.
- Designing and optimizing vault strategies across assets like stablecoins, ETH/BTC, and real-world tokens.
- Running risk assessments for liquidity, token depeg, or interest rate exposure.
- Building data pipelines for simulation, monitoring, and automated execution.
- Creating dashboards and alerts to stay ahead of market shifts.
- Writing research documentation that communicates your insights clearly.
- Collaborating on strategy memos and public research that guide DeFi innovation.
In short, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Gauntlet’s strategies are data-driven, resilient, and scalable all while learning from some of the sharpest minds in DeFi.
